The opening of GITEX GLOBAL, the world's largest tech show, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) took place today, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness was joined by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy of Dubai.

In his statement, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE's proactive leadership in various economic sectors and the significance of GITEX GLOBAL in bringing together over 6,000 exhibitors from 180 countries for discussions on the future of the technology industry. He emphasized Dubai's role as a pivotal hub for the technology industry and its commitment to progress, innovation, and international collaboration.

GITEX GLOBAL's 43rd edition, running from October 16 to October 20, 2023, reached full capacity with 6,000 exhibitors and 180,000 tech executives from 180 countries. The event included the Expand North Star, the world's largest startup event hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, featuring more than 1,800 startups exploring opportunities in Dubai's dynamic digital economy.

During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed toured various exhibition stands, interacting with technology leaders and learning about innovative products and services from companies such as Etisalat, Huawei, Beyon, Salesforce, Microsoft, and IBM.

Accompanying him on the tour were prominent officials, including UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Omar Sultan Al Olama, and Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Helal Saeed Al Marri, among others.

GITEX GLOBAL and Expand North Star covered a combined area of 2.7 million sq. ft, a 40% increase over the previous year, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in AI, the cloud, Web 3.0, cyber security, climate technology, urbanism, and more.

The event included the return of AI Everything, a showcase of AI solutions, the Global DevSlam coder and developer meet-up, and GITEX Cyber Valley, the largest cyber security event. Additionally, it hosted the GITEX CTO World Congress, the year’s largest gathering of tech architects and disruptors. New to this year's event were the co-located GITEX Impact and Future Urbanism Expo shows, focusing on climate change, sustainable development, and innovative solutions.

Prominent tech companies such as Dell Technologies, e&, Google, Huawei, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Tonomus, Salesforce, Broadcom, Beyon, and Deloitte participated in GITEX GLOBAL 2023.
